True life I'm addicted to GOOGLE!

Google in my opinion is the best search engine, and doesn't make people stupid but it actually makes helps them and makes them smarter. I personally use google everyday to help me with vocabulary words, see whats going on in the world, or if I just want to look up something. Google also helps me with my classes; for instance if one of my professors assigns a project or an assignment and I didn't quite understand it I google it and get a much better understanding. One can almost find anything on google, and its most likely accurate. Do I think it makes us lazy? No not really because when you search for something on google one does have to search and READ, and READ some more to make sure what they are looking for is right. All in all, I believe that google makes people more wiser and smarter, theres so much people can do on it and look up, I honestly don't know what people myself included would do with out google.

  1. I agree that google does aid in expanding our knowledge in endless topics, but by restricting ourselves to google, we inevitably eliminate our ability to acquire data from other sources. Rather than rely wholeheartedly on google for obtaining information, we should use it as a supplemental source in addition to other sources in order to gain a vaster understanding of a particular subject.

  2. I agree with you that Google has helped in many ways in people's daily life but I do think that in a way people are becoming too dependent to google. Rather than reading what they google, people skim to find the exact answer they were looking for. This situation is only in most circumstances because I believe that people usually use Google as a way to find a quick answer to something. In all, I think google is cutting the learning process in half, witch I believe is not a good thing. Knowledge should be earned and typing something in a search engine just doesn't cut it.

  3. First of all, I love the title of this blog post. For a real comment, I have to say that, while I think Google is making us lazy, I understand entirely where you are coming from with your comment. That makes perfect sense that one has to take the time to search and read, though generally articles and online material are shorten than an actual book of materials. Having said that, I'm glad you explored a different side of Google than a lot of us.

  4. I, personally, have always been lazy. So to me, Google is more helpful than damaging because it's convenience allows me to do more searching and reading than I would probably do if search engines like Google didn't exist. I completely agree with you, I consider Google a tool to making is smarter, we just have to know how to use it. We have to be willingly to read and read, as you said, and not simply choose to believe the first Wikipedia answer that comes up.
