Is google making us stupid?

I don't necessarily think Google is making us stupid. Though I do agree with Carr that it is changing the way we think. I can definitely admit that my attention span is not what it used to be. Even when reading articles assigned for this class, I find myself skimming over them, and have to force myself to focus and concentrate on reading and absorbing every single word. I think the fact that information is so much more accessible in small, digestible, tidbits makes it much more difficult to focus on something lengthy and scholarly. Unlike Carr and his friends, though, I am still capable of reading a book without getting distracted or bored, as long as that book is for leisure. Textbooks are much more difficult to get through. Its almost as if my mind is annoyed that there is not some sort of condensed easy version that I can quickly look over. I wish I could focus better, but I do appreciate the benefits that it has provided to our society.
