Google: bringing the world to our fingertips

Google, and similar search engines do not degrade our intelligence, but rather support and nourish our strife of knowledge. Research, an activity that used to take hours, days, or even weeks now takes mere seconds, allowing us to to focus our energies on absorbing and analyzing information rather than procuring it. Google allows us to use our time learning new things, ultimately increasing our intellectual stimulation exponentially. The world is rapidly changing and evolving, including the way we think and learn. Search engines like google aid us in keeping up with this fast paced development. Because we now obtain information so quickly, google may increase our impatience, but when we do find what we are looking for, we are able delve deeply into the subject matter and gain insight through thousands of different outlets and perspectives. The continuous development across the globe in inevitable and we must alter our original ways of doing things in order to keep up with the world.

  1. I completely agree with this post and the title of this post. I even wrote about the world being at our fingertips with the use of Google. In my post, I didn't mention anything about technology and I think it is a very good point. Not only is it rapidly changing and is out of our control, but it does make things, especially research so much easier. Our insight increases with this information that is available to us 24/7 and so conveniently.
